Betty L. Stewart of MEDEX Northwest has been recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of AAPA for going above and beyond in service to her community and profession. She practices as a Clinical Coordinator at MEDEX and has been a PA for 22 years.
Kari Bernard MS, PA-C, DFM-MEDEX faculty and site director of Anchorage campus is one of the three faculty nationally that have been selected for the prestigious AAPA-PAEA Research Fellowship 2019-2020 Cohort.

In 2021, PA education will be undergoing a change nationally. At this time, all PA programs must grant master’s degrees at the completion of the program. With this shift coming in just a few years, MEDEX is taking steps to meet this change in the upcoming application cycles.
Each year MEDEX Northwest educates over 100 physician assistants across four sites, and 2016 added new alumni to the ranks of over 2,200 prior graduates. With four graduation ceremonies taking place over two weeks, a summary review of the highlights reminds us what it takes to become a PA.
Starting on January 5th MEDEX will sponsor a 10-week interprofessional course for UW students in the Health Sciences. Others may participate remotely as all lectures will be live streamed via the MEDEX YouTube Channel. To register and for more details, visit the course website.
