MEDEX Northwest Admissions and Student Services Team Recipients of 2025 UW Award of Excellence

The MEDEX Northwest Admissions and Student Services Team will receive a Distinguished Staff Award at the 2025 UW Distinguished Staff Awards of Excellence ceremony to be held in Meany Hall at 3:30 p.m. on June 12 on the UW Seattle campus.

Kelly Willett – Veterans Caucus Scholar

MEDEX is pleased to announce that during the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) annual conference on Monday, May 19th, Kelly Willett of Anchorage Class 16 was awarded the 2025 Veterans Caucus Society of Air Force Physician Assistants Scholarship during the Veterans Caucus AAPA Memorial Ceremony.

Replenishing and Rebuilding at the 2025 MEDEX Northwest Retreat

Colleagues new and old from across the three-state and five-campus spread that is MEDEX—Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane, Anchorage and Kona—gathered on the UW Seattle campus (March 24-28, 2025) to catch up, unplug and get down to the business of building MEDEX 2.0.

Angel Adams – NHSC Scholar

MEDEX is pleased to share the news that Clinical Year student Angel Adams (Kona Class 4) was recently awarded the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Scholarship, a very significant accomplishment and commitment.

A Change of Leadership at MEDEX Northwest

The new year at MEDEX Northwest begins with the announcement of a significant change in program leadership. Terry Scott, MPA, PA-C, DFAAPA, has transitioned out of the role of Program Director, a position he has held since 2011, and Section Head, held since 2015.

We’re taking time here at MEDEX Northwest to remember with fondness and gratitude our longtime colleague and friend Tim Evans, MD, Ph.D., FACP, who passed away in Seattle on September 3, 2024 at the age of 77.
