MEDEX is pleased to announce that during the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) annual conference on Monday, May 19th, Kelly Willett of Anchorage Class 16 was awarded the 2025 Veterans Caucus Society of Air Force Physician Assistants Scholarship during the Veterans Caucus AAPA Memorial Ceremony.

Kelly reflected on what this scholarship means to her, stating, “I am honored to receive this award and stand alongside those who have received it before me, and those who will receive it in the future. As a veteran, it means a great deal to be able to continue serving my state and nation while also being supported by a community of fellow veterans. This recognition reminds me that those who came before me believe in my potential and the path I’ve chosen. It reinforces my commitment to becoming a physician assistant not only to expand access to care in underserved areas, but to give back to the veteran community by addressing the unique physical and mental health challenges we face.”

From her scholarship acceptance letter: “As a veteran and PA student, you embody the core values of dedication, compassion, and leadership. Your journey from military service to healthcare exemplifies a profound commitment to continuing a life of service—one that now focuses on healing, advocacy, and advancing the well-being of others.”

The Veterans Caucus is a caucus of the AAPA representing PAs who have served in the United States Uniformed Services. Since its inception in 1992, their scholarship program has conferred over $800,000 in awards to assist these future PAs on their journeys toward their new careers.

Congratulations on this well deserved scholarship, Kelly! We at MEDEX are very proud of you, grateful for your service to our country, and excited for your future of continued service to your community.
