Bear Lake Memorial Hospital is seeking a Family Practice Physician with the opportunity to join our organization in the spring of 2021. The incoming Physician will join a collegial, team-oriented group that is in need of a Family Practice Physician for a broad spectrum, rural practice that will include an Outpatient Clinic, Inpatient, and Emergency Department work.
Bear Lake Memorial Hospital is a small CAH hospital, with an attached Skilled Nursing Facility, that offers multiple services. The hospital is currently undergoing a remodel of its Emergency Department and purchasing its own MRI machine to better serve the community. BLMH has 21 state-of-the-art private rooms with all new equipment, including beds and furniture. The hospital takes pride in fostering the vision and culture of being ‘the most caring hospital on earth’. The employees have taken this motto to heart and live it each day. The hospital’s skilled nursing facility has 36 beds which are typically filled. It also has an off-site assisted living center which has had a recent addition and remodel. BLMH is a county-owned hospital that is under the direction of a 7-member board of directors. The relationship between the board, administration, and physicians is highly effective. Each of these entities is greatly supportive of the other. This has made it possible for continued growth and development within the hospital and the community. Unique to this hospital is the extensive support of the community, which is evidenced by the donations received towards the recent remodel and additions. Community support has been demonstrated over the past 20 years with its 7 million dollar contribution to the development of BLMH. The hospital offers a multitude of services such as family practice clinics, an orthopedic practice, visiting physicians, physical therapy, dialysis, speech therapy, behavioral health, home health, skilled nursing facility, assisted living, chemotherapy, etc. This range of services makes Bear Lake Memorial Hospital distinctive for a small CAH hospital in southeastern Idaho.
The Bear Lake valley is a rural, family friendly community where many of its residents make their living in agriculture. It is a relaxed, slower-paced life. Bear Lake Memorial Hospital is within 20 minutes of the beautiful Bear Lake. The lake is known for its turquoise blue water that offers fishing, boating and water skiing in the summer months and Cisco ice fishing, which is exclusive to Bear Lake, in the winter. It also has a fantastic beach front for picnicking and all kinds of beach activities. This valley is surrounded by majestic mountains with areas that are perfect for hiking, skiing, snow machining and hunting. It is said to have a true four-season climate. It is within just a few hours of two national parks (Yellowstone National Park and Teton National Park) and close to nationally recognized downhill skiing resorts.
