Growing up outside of Payson, Utah I developed a love for everything about the mountains. After serving a church mission to Houston, Texas I became interested in search and rescue and became an EMT. I attended Brigham Young University studying biology and later earned a Master of Health Sciences degree from the Duke University PA Program. After graduation I worked in a Community Health Center in rural Oregon practicing full spectrum family medicine with an emphasis in addiction medicine, pain management and mental health comorbidities. While there, I co-chaired the county’s Controlled Substance Committee where we would review individual cases to provide recommendations about safe prescribing practices of controlled substances as well as enacting policies for prescribing and dispensing these medications. In 2018 after years of precepting students in the clinic and growing a love for medical education, I decided to pursue a career with the University of Washington MEDEX PA Program where I get to help facilitate student learning in both the classroom and the clinic.
When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, hunting, riding horses and volunteering with my church.
