Assistant to the Program Director; Communications Specialist

I was born and raised in Sacramento, CA; like many of my peers, I got the heck out of there right after graduating high school. My destination was the Drama program at San Francisco State University, from which I graduated with a BA.

While I will always be a California girl at heart, I moved to Seattle in 2015 after many years in Los Angeles, where I had a lot of fun but faced multiple challenges, as is the norm in the entertainment industry. Seattle had always been like a second home for me and my family since my sister and her husband moved here in the early 90s (then had kids), so when I found a great Public Relations certificate program at UW, I knew it was my turn to call Seattle home, and I haven’t looked back.

I started with MEDEX in August of 2019 as Program Director Terry Scott’s assistant, then began also working as part of the Communications team February 2021. Some of the things I love about working at MEDEX: Helping make life easier for Terry and Misbah (Keen: Executive Vice Chair, UW Department Family Medicine [DFM]), assisting students when they need letters of recommendation from Terry, and editing, writing, and sharing stories about MEDEX students and colleagues. I’ve learned so much about PAs and PA education during my time here; I am grateful for every opportunity to support PAs present and future, and to generally spread the word about how awesome they are! Departmentally, I also am honored to serve on the DFM Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee and JEDI Communications subcommittee.

In my personal time, I enjoy DJing (downtempo/chill), singing, spending time with my partner/friends/family, reading (especially with my ears), eating/making great food, going to concerts, traveling, ice skating, dancing, making and seeing theatre and films, and occasionally going to Burning Man or similar events.
