Lecturer, Didactic Faculty

Hello there! My name is Megan Janorschke and I’m honored to share a bit about my journey with you. I hail from the beautiful town of Soldotna, Alaska, where the rugged landscapes and tight-knit community instilled in me a sense of humility and resilience from an early age.

After graduating from the University of Fairbanks with my undergraduate degree, I embarked on a path that led me to the esteemed MEDEX Anchorage program (Class 12). Little did I know that this would mark the beginning of an incredibly fulfilling chapter in my life. Since January of 2023, I’ve had the privilege of being involved in the MEDEX program not just as a graduate, but also as a lecturer. It all started with an exciting opportunity as a contract lecturer, specializing in Emergency Medicine. Through sharing my experiences and knowledge, I found a profound joy in helping shape the next generation of healthcare professionals. In September 2023, I was humbled to be offered a faculty position within the program. It was a moment that filled me with gratitude and a renewed sense of responsibility to continue fostering a supportive learning environment for students.

In addition to my role at MEDEX, I also work in the Fast Track of the emergency department at the Alaska Native Medical Center. This hands-on experience keeps me grounded, reminding me of the real-world impact of the lessons I impart in the classroom. Every day, I’m reminded of how fortunate I am to be able to serve my community in these capacities. Whether it’s guiding students through their educational journey or providing care to those in need, I approach each day with a sense of humility and a desire to make a positive difference.
