Lindsey Knowles, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington (UW). She is an attending clinical psychologist in the UW Long COVID Clinic.
Dr. Knowles’s research focuses on optimizing behavioral health treatments for common and disabling symptoms in adults living with chronic health conditions like long COVID and multiple sclerosis (MS). Currently, she has an NIH Career Development Award to optimize a telehealth Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-based treatment for MS-related fatigue using the Multiphase Optimization Strategy.
Clinically, Dr. Knowles serves people with mental and behavioral health concerns related to living with chronic health conditions. She believes in a holistic approach to managing chronic health conditions. Dr.
Knowles uses a variety of therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness and self-compassion practices, and self-management strategies, to help individuals cope with the emotional and physical challenges of living with chronic health conditions.
