Elizabeth Spokoiny (she/her) is a Teaching Associate in the Department of Urology and Andrology (Men’s Health) at the University of Washington. She also spent 3 years in the Department of Neurology specializing in pain and headache medicine. Elizabeth is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and is certified in Lifestyle Medicine.

Elizabeth’s approach in clinical practice is to use evidence-based lifestyle interventions in conjunction usual care to help patients with health promotion and addressing their health problems proactively. Elizabeth’s patients are recommended to fully participate in their care by identifying areas of improvement for lifestyle changes they may be able to implement in the short term and sustain in the long term. She seeks to empower patients with knowledge and a dose of encouragement to make positive health changes in their own lives.

Elizabeth holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. She implemented her Quality Improvement Project at the UW Center for Pain Relief as a practice change using the Anti-Inflammatory Diet treatment for chronic pain (2020). She presented her work internationally at the Sigma Theta Tau International Conference in Singapore. She holds an Advanced Teaching Certificate in Clinical Learning and Innovation in Medical Education. She is trained in laughter yoga therapy – laughter is the best medicine.

Elizabeth is a member of: American Association of Nurse Practitioners, ARNPs United, Sexual Medicine Society of North America, American Urological Association, American Academy of Neurology, Sigma Theta Tau, and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

Research interests: lifestyle medicine to treat erectile dysfunction, headaches and pain.

Personal Interests:
She loves travel, painting, jet skiing with her dog, ice sports, attending local concerts and festivals with family.
