Daniel Wolpert, a healer and student of spiritual life, has dedicated over 30 years to teaching and leading retreats in psychology, integrative medicine, and spiritual formation. A Presbyterian pastor and Spiritual Director, he is also an accomplished author with numerous books and articles on spiritual life, leadership, and healing.
Before earning his Master of Divinity degree at San Francisco Theological Seminary (SFTS), Daniel worked as a research scientist, psychologist, spiritual director, farmer, teacher, and construction worker. His extensive teaching experience includes positions at the Art of Spiritual Direction Program at SFTS, national ministry conferences, UCLA, UND Medical School, Luther Seminary, and the 5-Day Academy for Spiritual Formation.
Daniel has significantly contributed to the development of contemplative environments and spiritual leadership by building or restoring monasteries, theological schools, and retreat centers across North America. He is the co-founder and former Executive Director of the Minnesota Institute of Contemplation and Healing (MICAH).
His notable publications include “Leading a Life with God: The Practice of Spiritual Leadership” (Upper Room, 2006), “Creating a Life with God: The Call of Ancient Prayer Practices” (Upper Room, 2003), and his most recent book, “Looking Inward, Living Outward: The Spiritual Practice of Social Transformation” (Upper Room, 2024). Daniel divides his time between Seattle and Minnesota, continuing his work in spiritual direction and healing in private practice.
