Rural Dementia Spending and Supply
Description:
Dementia disproportionately affects rural older adults. Despite this, comprehensive data on the supply of the dementia care workforce and health care spending on dementia-related care in rural and urban counties is limited. This study will address the following questions about dementia care workforce supply and spending patterns across the rural-urban continuum in the United States:

- How does the supply of dementia specialists (e.g., geriatric psychiatrists, neurologists, geriatricians, and nurse practitioners in gerontology) vary across levels of rurality and census divisions?
- How does spending for dementia care vary across rural and urban U.S. counties, levels of rurality, and census divisions?
