The Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine Interest Groups are collaborating to host a workshop on the role of primary care in the opioid crisis and harm reduction strategies. Please join us on November 4th @5:45pm-7:15pm in HSB T 550. Students of all years and interested in all specialties are welcome.

You will have the opportunity to learn about IUDs from family medicine physicians at various stages of training (residency, reproductive health fellowship, and attending), and practice hands-on skills. Dinner is provided, please include dietary restrictions on sign-up.

— Thursday, November 20, 6-7:30pm: Wound Care Workshop with Dr. Robin Christian (HSEB 345)

We are delighted to announce our Wound Care Workshop with Dr. Robin Christian, MD. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn about the recognition, identification and management of acute and chronic wounds. During the hands-on activity stations, participants will practice:

  • Debridement – Techniques for removing necrotic tissue to promote healing.
  • Compression Wraps – Proper application of compression wraps for managing venous insufficiency and edema.
  • Wound Dressing – Selecting and applying appropriate dressings for different wound types.
