    Biography:
    Shahida Shahrir, PhD MPH is a research scientist at the Center for Health Workforce Studies (CHWS) with specific interest in local health departments. She completed her doctorate in Health Systems and Population Health at the University of Washington in 2022 and her Masters in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University in 2009. She also served in the United States Peace Corps from 2005 to 2007 as a Maternal and Child Health volunteer in rural Morocco. Dr. Shahrir joined the Department of Family Medicine Research Section in 2023 after 13 years with the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine in the Department of Medicine. Her previous work includes research focusing on tobacco cessation, populations living with HIV, health disparities, and COVID.
