Use of Non-physician Practitioners as Allowed Providers for Home Health and Access to Care in Rural and Medically Underserved Communities

Description:

Non-physician practitioners (NPPs) recently became allowed providers for Medicare home health (HH) services. This study will describe the extent to which NPPs have become involved in HH and examine whether including NPPs as allowed providers has increased access to HH for beneficiaries, especially those in rural and underserved areas.
