Changes in the Number and Characteristics of Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Registered Apprenticeship Programs and Apprentices by State Since 2015
Description:
This study will describe the landscape of registered apprenticeships for nursing occupations including registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical/vocational nurses (LPNs). Areas of focus will include trends in the number of completions by state and characteristics of nurses completing apprenticeships including sex, age, race, ethnicity, disability status, and veteran status. In addition, we will identify any substantial changes in labor practices or recommendations from nursing institutions that may be influencing current trends. Findings will provide insights into the distribution of RN and LPN apprenticeships in the U.S. and ways they may be supporting growth of this workforce, particularly among those who historically have experienced barriers to entry into the nursing workforce.
