Biography

David Evans, MD is a Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Washington and the Rosenblatt Family Endowed Professor in Rural Health. He cares for patients at the UW Primary Care Northgate Clinic and on the Family Medicine inpatient and obstetric service at the University of Washington Medical Center - Northwest. He teaches family medicine residents in the outpatient, inpatient, and obstetrics settings and conducts rural health research with the WWAMI Rural Health Research Center. Dr. Evans earned his M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine where he graduated with honors. After a year spent in Washington, DC as the National President of the American Medical Student Association he completed his residency in Family Medicine at Tacoma Family Medicine in Tacoma, Washington. For 15 years Dr. Evans practiced in rural Oregon where, in addition to providing clinical care, he was active in his local community and with organized medicine. He is the recipient of several community service and teaching awards and enjoys living in Seattle, Washington with his wife, two children and dogs.
