Fircrest Residential Habilitation Center -Shoreline, WA
This rotation is at a residential facility for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This slower paced rotation focuses on providing primary care. We have up to 200 residents residing in both an Intermediate Care Facility and a Nursing Facility.
Highlights include:
- Spending time with allied health professionals, OT, SLP, PT
- Observing and working with consulting providers such as: Ophthalmology, Audiology, Podiatry, Psychiatry.
- Participating in interdisciplinary unit team meetings.
- Performing acute and chronic care for our residents.
- Learning to communicate with and examine nonverbal and limited verbal ability patients.
- Exposure to rare genetic conditions.
