Artificial Intelligence in Health Care: Applications and Implications for the Allied Health Workforce

Description:

This study will describe how the tasks and roles of select allied health occupations are currently supported by artificial intelligence (AI) implementation, assess where AI use may be expanded, and explore the challenges and risks that AI poses to these jobs and the services they provide. We will use findings from literature reviews (including peer-reviewed and gray literature), secondary data, and stakeholder interviews to improve understanding of current and likely future impacts of AI on the allied health workforce for use in health workforce planning and to anticipate impacts on patient care.
