Biography

Maria Prado holds a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Epidemiology from Boston University and currently works in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Washington. She has gained valuable research experience at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Boston, MA), focusing on autoimmune diseases, and at the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason (Seattle, WA), where she contributed to the clinical research core. In her current role, Maria leads engagement with consults for the Data QUEST Coordinating Center, applying her knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) data and Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes to assist clients in defining data requests and drafting IRB protocols. She also provides project management and coordination support, is responsible for designing REDCap databases, and brings extensive experience in community and stakeholder engagement across a range of multiple site projects.

Outside of work, Maria enjoys reading and anything food-related—cooking, eating, and discovering new restaurants. She also loves watching Chinese wuxia dramas, and has recently joined the pickleball craze, much to her amusement.
