Biography
For almost 30 years Gwen Credit, MA, has worked at the University of Washington and Harborview Medical Center in various administrative roles. She is currently the Associate Director of Education for the UW Department of Family Medicine which includes the Family Medicine Residency Physician Training Program and the Family Medicine Medical Student Education Section. Gwen worked as the part-time Director of Operations for the Herndon Alliance, a non-profit national coalition of over 200 organizations focused on communications and coordination with a goal of achieving affordable quality health care for all people in America. In her role with the Herndon Alliance, Gwen successfully distributed Herndon's value based messaging research which was ultimately used by presidential candidates and their campaigns as well as dozens of nation health care organizations. She played a key role in administrator, manager of program operations, and fiscal officer in the health care field. Gwen is a University of Washington Alumni Association member and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and a Masters Degree in Human Development with specializations in Leadership in Education and Human Services. Gwen volunteers for the Rising Out of the Shadows, ROOTS, Homeless Youth Breakfast Program, she is a mentor for the Seattle Youth Violence Prevention Initiative, Boys and Girls Clubs of King County, and she is a volunteer counselor for the City of Seattle Fatherhood Program.
