Biography
Arati Dahal, PhD, is a research scientist at the Centers for Health Workforce Studies. She received her PhD in economics from the University of Georgia. She is an economist with interests and expertise in health economics, labor economics, pharmacoeconomics, and applied econometrics. She has expertise in statistical and econometric analyses using large retrospective, claims, electronic medical record (EMR), and longitudinal/panel databases. Dr. Dahal has also designed and conducted cost-effectiveness/utility analyses and meta-analysis projects.She has several years of research experience in various therapeutic areas, including diabetes, psoriasis, cancer, and mental health disorders; has studied direct and indirect economic burden of illnesses, impact of pharmacist interventions on clinical and economic outcomes, and effects of mental health disorders on labor market, among others. She has published peer-reviewed articles in journals such as American Journal of Clinical Oncology, Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy, Journal of Economic Psychology, and Journal of Rural Health.
