disorder (MOUD), especially methadone. Methadone can only be obtained from a federally certified and accredited opioid treatment program (OTP). Medicare began covering OTP services in 2020. While increasing numbers of Medicare enrollees have accessed methadone, it remains an underutilized treatment option.
