Biography

Kris (Pui Kwan) Ma, PhD is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Ma is trained as a clinical psychologist, earned her PhD in Clinical-Community Psychology from DePaul University, and completed her residency in UW Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences through the Integrated Primary Care track. Her research interests center around health disparities, integrated behavioral health in primary care, cultural adaptations for diverse populations, and dementia caregiving. She works with Dr. Kari A. Stephens research group on research related to facilitation of quality improvement at the UW Northgate Neighborhood Clinic to improve integrated behavioral health as part of a PCORI large pragmatic funded trial, examining disparities in access to care in primary care, and collaborating with the UW Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences’ Integrated Care Training Program to conduct qualitative research across the Washington State to promote integration of psychologists in primary care.
