Dr. Majd is the first MD to hold this position. He is also an NCCAOM board certified acupuncturist, having received his Master of Science in acupuncture from Bastyr University. Established in 1982, the NCCAOM\u2019s mission is to assure the safety and well-being of the public and to advance the professional practice of acupuncture and Oriental medicine by establishing and promoting national standards and credentialing of acupuncturists.\n\u201cI am honored to be appointed Chair of the Board of the Commissioners of the NCCAOM and look forward to advancing the mission of this vital organization\u201d, stated Dr. Majd. \u201cWith the growth of integrated medicine and an increasing demand for acupuncture, acupuncturist are finding their rightful place in the health care system.
