They are meant to provide some insight into MEDEX values and priorities. MEDEX aims to come to a fair judgment about each application as a whole and an individual\u2019s readiness for the MEDEX Physician Assistant (PA) program.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"accordion_title\">About the Program<\/h3><div class=\"accordion\">\n\n\t<div id=\"accordion-3849997037\" class=\"accordion-item\">\n\t\t<a id=\"accordion-3849997037-label\" class=\"accordion-title plain\" href=\"#accordion-item-campus-locations\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"accordion-3849997037-content\">\n\t\t\t<button class=\"toggle\" aria-label=\"Toggle\"><i class=\"icon-angle-down\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t<span>Campus locations<\/span>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t<div id=\"accordion-3849997037-content\" class=\"accordion-inner\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-3849997037-label\">\n\t\t\t\n\n<p>MEDEX offers its MCHS curriculum at five campus locations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anchorage, AK<\/li>\n<li>Kona, HI<\/li>\n<li>Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma, WA\u202f<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Seat availability varies by campus. For the class entering in 2027, MEDEX anticipates the following cohort sizes: Anchorage (24), Kona (24), Seattle (52), Spokane (32), and Tacoma (30).<\/p>\n<p>Applicants may select two (2) preferred campus locations in the CASPA Application.\u202fMEDEX makes every effort to place applicants at their first campus choice, but due to competitiveness and limited seats, some applicants may be placed at their second campus preference.\u202f\u202f<\/p>\n<p>MEDEX seeks applicants who demonstrate a strong commitment to serving the communities around their chosen campus location(s).<\/p>\n<p>MEDEX is reserving five (5) seats at the minimum at its Spokane Campus for current or permanent qualified Montana residents for the class entering 2027.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t<div id=\"accordion-88712478\" class=\"accordion-item\">\n\t\t<a id=\"accordion-88712478-label\" class=\"accordion-title plain\" href=\"#accordion-item-clinical-rotations\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"accordion-88712478-content\">\n\t\t\t<button class=\"toggle\" aria-label=\"Toggle\"><i class=\"icon-angle-down\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t<span>Clinical rotations<\/span>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t<div id=\"accordion-88712478-content\" class=\"accordion-inner\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-88712478-label\">\n\t\t\t\n\n<p>MEDEX maintains over 700 clinical training education sites throughout the WWAMI region and Hawai\u2019i with occasional placements in other underserved areas in the western U.S. Clinical sites include hospitals, private clinics, prisons, specialty clinics, community health centers, farm worker clinics, and Indian Health sites.\u202f\u202f<\/p>\n<p>Placements are made on an individual basis in collaboration with the MEDEX Clinical Team, and all students are expected to travel during their clinical year. To confirm understanding, applicants must sign the <a href=\"https:\/\/familymedicine.uw.edu\/medex\/applicants\/apply\/\">Clinical Year Travel Acknowledgment and Agreement<\/a> in the CASPA application and again upon acceptance.<\/p>\n<p>Each student will gain experience working with an underserved community. Students at the Anchorage and Kona campuses are placed throughout Alaska and Hawai\u2019i to meet regional healthcare needs.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t<div id=\"accordion-1124292551\" class=\"accordion-item\">\n\t\t<a id=\"accordion-1124292551-label\" class=\"accordion-title plain\" href=\"#accordion-item-degrees-offered-and-program-length\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"accordion-1124292551-content\">\n\t\t\t<button class=\"toggle\" aria-label=\"Toggle\"><i class=\"icon-angle-down\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t<span>Degrees offered and program length<\/span>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t<div id=\"accordion-1124292551-content\" class=\"accordion-inner\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-1124292551-label\">\n\t\t\t\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/familymedicine.uw.edu\/medex\/pa-program\/degrees-offered\/masters-mchs\/\">Master of Clinical Health Services (MCHS)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The MEDEX Northwest PA program is a 27-month full-time course of study leading to a <a href=\"https:\/\/familymedicine.uw.edu\/medex\/pa-program\/degrees-offered\/masters-mchs\/\">Master of Clinical Health Services degree<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The two primary components of the curriculum are the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/familymedicine.uw.edu\/medex\/pa-program\/curriculum\/didactic-year\/\">classroom (known as didactic) phase<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/familymedicine.uw.edu\/medex\/pa-program\/curriculum\/clinical-year\/\">clinical phase<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Students who successfully complete the program also earn a Certificate of Completion, which qualifies them to take the national certification examination.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>PharmD\/MCHS Dual Degree (2026 Matriculation Pause Continuing to 2027)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The PharmD\/MCHS dual degree option, previously offered in partnership with the <a href=\"https:\/\/sop.washington.edu\/pharmd\/curriculum\/concurrent-degrees-certificates\/pharmd-pa\/\">Pharmacy Doctorate (PharmD) Program at the University of Washington<\/a> is not admitting new students at this time. MEDEX is currently in the process of determining its new curricululm, and the dual-degree pathway is on hold while curriculum alignment and transferable credit requirements are reviewed.
