Smith, PA-C"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Associate Teaching Professor,<br \/>Associate Program Director of Academic Affairs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After growing up in Michigan and attending high school in Tampa, Florida, I served in the U.S. Army special operations community as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant for most of my military career which included multiple deployments throughout Asia, the Arabian Peninsula, and Africa. While on active duty at Fort Lewis, I was able to obtain my undergraduate degree from UW and after retirement from the military, I returned to the University of Washington to attend physician assistant training in MEDEX Seattle Class 46.<\/p>\n<p>My PA career has always been building my clinical practice in urgent care and emergency medicine, while simultaneously teaching as an EMS and wilderness medicine educator and a member of the Seattle didactic faculty at MEDEX. My academic interests include trauma and emergency medicine, clinical and technical skills, simulation training, team and problem-based learning.
