I became a single mother when I was just twenty-one years old\nand endured many challenging years as I worked multiple jobs in the health and\nwellness industry while going to school in order to create a better life for\nmyself and my child. I worked as a health club manager, personal trainer, and\nmassage practitioner, which eventually led me to employment at a massage\ntherapy college. I started off as an instructor and then evolved into Student\nServices and Program Management.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2012, I married a physician\nassistant (PA) from Seattle and since PA\u2019s were not recognized nor approved to\nwork in B.C., I moved to Seattle and began working for UW Medicine Compliance\nwhere I honed my administrative skills to eventually become the administrator\nof the department. After 6 years with Compliance, I decided to rejoin academia.\nI initially took on a fiscal role at the UW Office of Global Affairs, Study\nAbroad for a year and then moved on to MEDEX in 2019 where I have had the honor\nof being a part of the Admissions and Student Services team!
