Students committed to primary care and enrolled in allopathic or osteopathic medical, dental, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or certified nurse midwife training programs can receive tuition, fees, other educational costs and a living stipend, tax-free, for as many as 4 years in exchange for an equal number of years (2-year minimum) service at an approved facility in a high-need underserved area.
The Health Professions scholarship provides financial aid covering tuition, required fees and other educational and living expenses for qualified American Indian and Alaska Native students (members of federally recognized tribes only) applying to, accepted by or enrolled in health professions programs. Students incur service obligations and payback requirements on acceptance of their scholarship award. Graduate students and junior- and senior-level students receive priority unless otherwise specified
Students enrolled in WICHE Professional Student Exchange Program pay reduced levels of tuition: for most students, resident tuition in public institutions or reduced standard tuition at private schools. The home state pays a support fee to the admitting school to help cover the cost of students’ education. This scholarship is available for students from Alaska, Arizona, Nevada and Wyoming.
