Biography

Heather Tick M.A., M.D., is the first holder of the Gunn-Loke Endowed Professorship of Integrative Pain Medicine at the University of Washington. She has been an integrative pain practitioner for over 20 years. She is a UW clinical associate professor in both the Departments of Family Medicine, and Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. She is an adjunct professor at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). She has been involved with research with the University of Waterloo, Department of Kinesiology, the University of Washington and University of Arizona. She was the director of the Integrative Pain Clinic at the University of Arizona in the Department of Family and Community Medicine until Dec 2011. She was recruited by the University of Arizona Health Plan to start this integrative medicine pain clinic for Medicaid patients. This clinic grew to service other populations as well and was covered by insurance carriers.
