Led by UW CHWS Director <a href=\"https:\/\/familymedicine.uw.edu\/chws\/team\/bianca-frogner\/\">Bianca Frogner<\/a> in collaboration with UW CHWS Assistant Deputy Director <a href=\"https:\/\/familymedicine.uw.edu\/chws\/team\/paula-kett\/\">Paula Kett<\/a> and researchers at the University of South Carolina and Boston University, the study analyzed how $23 billion in federal COVID-19 relief funds were distributed among 1,352 federally qualified health centers (FQHCs). The findings, published in <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1377\/hlthaff.2024.00018\"><em data-start=\"333\" data-end=\"349\">Health Affairs<\/em><\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.lww.com\/ambulatorycaremanagement\/abstract\/2024\/10000\/association_of_federal_covid_19_funding.7.aspx\"><em data-start=\"358\" data-end=\"397\">Journal of Ambulatory Care Management<\/em><\/a>, revealed major disparities in funding allocations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"453\" data-end=\"821\">Some centers received as little as $19, while others were awarded up to $1.2 billion. Rural clinics and those serving more uninsured and unhoused patients received higher funding, whereas centers with younger, diverse, and Medicaid-heavy populations received less.
