    Program Operations Specialist


    Biography:
    Maureen Kartheiser, MEd, is the Program Operations Specialist of the University of Washington Center for Health Workforce Studies, where she provides strategic input to the leadership team on research priorities, grant related report writing, major grant deadlines, grant proposal development processes, and drafts key components of CHWS funding applications. Maureen serves as liaison internally between leadership and researchers, and externally with key state and national partners to inform program and policy decisions around healthcare workforce priorities. She has extensive experience in HRSA grant writing, review, evaluation, and management. Served as director of the local Health Profession Opportunity Grant (HPOG), and previously as state director of programs and government affairs for a national children’s research and health advocacy organization as well as director of the state office of rural health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Maureen earned her bachelor and master’s degrees at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a graduate certificate in Public Health Leadership from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
