IHS Expanded Function Dental Assistant I Workforce Model Examination
Description:
This study will examine and describe development and implementation of the Indian Health Service (IHS) Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) I provider model to provide information that can be sued to explore the feasibility of implementing the model in Washington State. This will include gathering information about the education/training required and roles served by the IHS EFDA I occupation model; describing oral health workforce supply and demand in Washington, including gaps that a new workforce model could help address; and providing information about the implementation of the model in IHS sites, including obstacles and facilitators.
