According to the April jobs report by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the labor market held up well, with the biggest hiring sector being health care, which added about 51,000 jobs amidst all that tariff uncertainty. In a recent interview with Marketplace, which covers daily business news and economic stories, UW CHWS Director Bianca Frogner shared her expertise as an economist, noting that “the future strength of health care hiring may depend on the weakness of other sectors.”
