UW Research Assistant Professor of Family Medicine, Davis Patterson, PhD, is Project Director of the new Collaborative for Rural Primary care Research, Education, and Practice (Rural PREP), a five-year, $3.7 million cooperative agreement with HRSA’s Bureau of Health Workforce. Besides conducting research on rural health professionals, Rural PREP seeks to strengthen the rural primary care workforce by disseminating best practices and evidence and developing communities of practice. Along with Associate Director Randy Longenecker, MD, at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Department of Family Medicine and its Office of Rural and Underserved Programs, collaborators include the UW Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, the WWAMI Area Health Education Center, and other partners.
