Dr. Paul James Speaks on Authoring One of JAMA’s Most Influential Articles of the Past Decade

Paul JamesAs 2019 came to close, editors of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) named the ten most important articles to clinical medicine and public health published in the 2010s. Among the top ten was, “2014 Evidence-Based Guideline for the Management of High Blood Pressure in Adults,” authored by Department of Family Medicine Chair Dr. Paul James and colleagues. In an interview following this announcement, Dr. James spoke about what brought him to Family Medicine, how access to care is a strong motivator for him, how his rural medical practice informs his work today.
