Ashwin Rao Completes Guest Editor Position for AMSSM Edition of British Journal of Sports Medicine

Ashwin Rao has just finished his role as a guest editor for the AMSSM-theme issue of the British Journal of Sports Medicine. The topic for the theme issue was “Mental Health in Athletes”. Dr. Rao was nominated by the AMSSM board to complete the project with Dr. Eugene Hong of Drexel. This effort yielded him two first author publications (one editorial, one research article) as well as co-authorship on another article and an editorial warm-up, in addition to the experience of collaborating with colleagues from around the country to secure a variety of research and peer-reviewed commissioned articles. Department of Family Medicine fellow, Steve Poon, also contributed as second author on Dr. Rao’s research article on homicide in NCAA athletes well as a mental health mobile app review. Dr. Jonathan Drezner and Dr. Kimberly Harmon were co-authors on several contributions as well.
